Project Description:
The Seattle City Council’s Land Use Committee will hold a public hearing on Friday, December 8, 2023, on Council Bill (CB) 120674, which would extend the life of certain permits issued between March 1, 2020, and December 31, 2026, from three years to six years. CB 120674 would:
1. Extend the life of Master Use Permits (MUPs) approved for issuance between March 1, 2020, and December 31, 2026, from three to six years, which would allow those projects to develop to land use regulations that were in effect when those projects vested;
2. Extend the life of the first phase of Major Phased Development projects and Planned Community Development projects, which allow for longer vesting and permit lives, to six years; and
3. Maintain current MUP vesting and permit duration provisions for shoreline permits, subdivisions, and variances.
