Digital properties at the City of Seattle must be welcoming to all people regardless of ability. This includes vision, hearing, dexterity, cognition, and more — whether permanent or temporary. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are an international standard that explains how to make web content accessible. Federal regulations require that City of Seattle web applications and content are compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Level 2.1 A and AA by April 24, 2026.
Due to legacy platform limitations, some parts of the Seattle Services Portal do not yet fully meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level A and AA standards required for City digital services. We are actively assessing and improving accessibility in line with City policy and legal requirements.
